Especially with Webs at this point.

Today I wanted to check the forum to notice I got the CPU Limit Exceeded message, like some other people reported earlier. I was going to submit a support ticket about it to the host, but it kept telling me I forgot to fill out a field, while I did fill out everything. I don't know if this was because I was trying to submit the ticket from my iPod, breaking some scripts on the page, or not. But I had to delay the ticket. I also had in mind that I maybe need to move hosts again, and I'm not really in the mood for another move, because finding better hosts which cooperate is a hassle (for me at least, apparently) and there's no guarantee that the new host isn't as bad.

Eventually I checked this Webs site to notice that my username had suddenly changed into my email address. THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE WEBS, I DID NOT ASK FOR THAT! I'm really frustrated that they did this. I don't know how long it had been there already, and at first I couldn't find the option so I thought it had to be my email address, so I had to change it to an address which would make my username look crap (also it had to be a valid address). So before my username was changed I had to click the link in a confirmation email and then it kept telling me that my login details were incorrect, even after triple checking, so for a moment I thought I was locked out, unable to change my username from something too personal to something better. Even after it started working again, my username still wasn't changed. It turned out to be an option somewhere in the site control panel. I still don't know why they decided to change it and I wonder how many real names have been revealed of other site owners they didn't want to have revealed (the members' usernames were just fine)

Also having to write posts on here twice because "Your request timed out."

Today is totally going to be a day without any frustration. I'm finally going to sleep now and I hope the forum is back soon. :(

I encountered the timeout trying to post here as well.

Have you sent the ticket? I wonder if we should move back to original, as we are facing regular downtimes instead of random downtimes...

I've sent the ticket, and I'm still having a conversation with support, and I don't know yet if the CPU limit is actually shared for everyone on the server or not.

We shouldn't move back to the original, I have the idea that on the new one the downtimes are much shorter (If there's not the CPU limit). Also, we have a higher chance that the old one cancels the site if we continue with the old one.

I'm investigating options to try to prevent this CPU limit from being exceeded. :/

GRAAAH WHAT ARE YOU DOING NOW, HOST

I woke up to that :( They thought the database was too big and suspended the site! :(

I'm gonna ask them to unsuspend the site, but this can't go on for longer, I need to find a better host!

Oh, and Webs, please stop with the timed out requests.

The good news is that nothing is lost in any case. :) I have a full backup of the database (I can still download a backup of that even though the site is suspended, if I wouldn't have that then I would have one of a few hours before it went down) so of the posts/members/whatever, nothing is lost. At most a few attachments, but that shouldn't happen if the site gets unsuspended normally.

Any time you want to un-suspend the site is fine by us, host.

I have a feeling that the site will be unsuspended just after I go to sleep, then it gets resuspended automatically because the database still contains too many records...

it's unsuspended now :)

But the question is: for how long? :o

Something which really helps reducing the size of the database, is marking all topics as read after having nothing unread anymore, it can clear hundreds of records!
